All our professionals at Kerr Dental Associates maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry. In addition, the staff is involved in the Plymouth community providing sponsorships of various local groups, including the Philharmonic, The Spire, Beth Isreal Jordan, and scholarships to the three high schools.
Dr. Kerr, a Boston native, attended Stonehill College in North Easton where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1977. In 1983, he received his DMD degree from the Tufts University of Dental Medicine in Boston. Over the years, Dr. Kerr has attended a wide variety of continuing education courses. Most recently he has completed a core curriculum at the noted Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Arizona. Dr. Kerr has been restoring implants for over 15 years. His first dental practice was located on the Plymouth Waterfront. He moved his growing practice to the Pinehills in 2010.
Outside the office, Dr. Kerr is the proud father of five children. He has been active over the years in a variety of parent-teacher organizations in Plymouth. In addition, he is a long time member of the Stonehill College Alumni Board. Dr. Kerr spends any free time being a member of a local band, fishing and traveling.
Dr. Lutz grew up in Plymouth and attended Plymouth schools. From Plymouth, he headed up to University of Maine at Orono and received a B.S. in Zoology in 1995. He graduated from Boston University of Dental Medicine in 1999.
For the past 10 years, he has been practicing with Dr. Kerr in Plymouth. Prior to joining Dr. Kerr, Dr. Lutz practiced in Weymouth. Several times a year, Dr. Lutz continues his professional studies at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry where he has recently been focusing on occlusion (TMJ/TMD related). Dr. Lutz has experience in all aspects of implant dentistry, from single tooth implants to full mouth screw retained the denture. Throughout the year, he attends a Seattle Study Club with other dental professionals in the area.
Dr. Lutz likes to focus on comprehensive restorative care for the entire family, implant restorations, and esthetics. He is currently on the health advisory board for the South Shore Head Start program and has enjoyed providing care to Russian children affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
Outside interests include NASCAR, Karate and spending as much time as possible with his wife and three very active daughters. Dr. Lutz and his family live in Plymouth but also like to spend time relaxing and fishing at their camp in Maine.
Dr. Stipho grew up in Massachusetts, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College and her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. At Tufts, she chose to further her training and received her certificate in Periodontology. During her periodontal training, she also earned a Masters degree in Periodontology with an emphasis on bilateral sinus lift procedures. Dr. Stipho is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology; a Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
While at Tufts, Dr. Stipho earned many awards and honors. She was a recipient of the Dr. O. Walter Donnenfeld Scholarship, the Proctor and Gamble Award and the Dr. Chad Anderson Family Award for innovative methodology and research design. She was inducted into the Robert R. Andrews Honors Society and was included in the Deans List for her performance on the National Board. She has presented her work at the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Association of Dental Research and the Yankee Dental Congress.
Dr. Stipho served the profession and the community as chair of the Tufts Alumni Association of Women Dentists, board member of the National Student Research Group, and clinical instructor in periodontology for pre-doctoral dental students at the Tufts University clinic. She has participated in several outreach programs whose mission is to reach underserved communities nationally and internationally. She is currently a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society, where she is a member of the Leadership Institute. She is also an active member of the International Team for Implantology study club.
Dr. Stipho is an accomplished watercolor artist and a pianist certified with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She also has a passion for traveling and photography and loves to spend time with family and friends.
Dr. Stipho enjoys every aspect of Periodontology, strives to provide the best care possible to her patients and is excited to serve the community.
Dr. Jacinthe Giroux spent her early childhood in Rochester Minnesota while her father was studying there. She graduated from McGill University and completed a Multidisciplinary Residency Program at the Montreal Children's Hospital. She devoted many years practicing, directing and developing services in remote regions of Canada in both Nunavik and James Bay.
Upon her return to the United States, she was the Director of Risk Management for EDIC, authoring articles and lecturing on topics related to standards of care and risk prevention, before returning to her love for practicing dentistry. Dr. Giroux lives in Plymouth and enjoys yoga, cycling and hiking.
Dr. Olafson grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and attended the University of Central Florida where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Following dental school, Dr. Olafson participated in a prestigious one-year General Practice Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The residency focused on the comprehensive treatment of patients with complex dental problems. Dr. Olafson received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry with a focus on oral surgery, implants, endodontics (root canals) and periodontal (gum) surgeries.
Dr. Olafson has completed hundreds of hours in continuing education and is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in the ever-evolving profession. His favorite part of dentistry is being able to relieve patient's pain and help provide them a beautiful smile. He loves technology and is excited that his patients can benefit from the continued improvements in dental technology. Outside of the office Dr. Olafson enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
In addition to Kerr Dental, Dr. Olafson also practices at our other practice location, Columbian Square Dental, in Weymouth.
Dr. Wolkowicz is originally from Florida and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. She is a 1998 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Before moving to Duxbury and joining Kerr Dental, Dr. Wolkowicz practiced in Raynham for many years. Dr. Wolkowicz is a member of the American Dental Society (ADA) and the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS).
